Proud Families: Blood, Found, Made

In celebration of Pride Month, the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge invites visual artists to exhibit work in the 2D or 3D realm that explores the concepts and complexities of family, connection, and love within the LGBTQ+ community. This call is open to Louisiana artists who are LGBTQ+ or those with immediate LGBTQ+ family members.

Eligibility: Open to artists ages 18 or older residing in or having been born in Louisiana. Art must be original, no reproductions accepted. Entry fee is $30.00. Submissions must include 2-5 images. Up to 3 submissions per entry are allowed, with the option of $10 per extra image for a maximum of 5 entries. Work will be juried by a panel of national and regional art curators, with each submission ranked on a scale of 1-7 by each juror.

Size and weight restrictions: Maximum wall space for 2D or 3D artwork is 10 feet unless otherwise agreed upon. Sculptural submissions are considered on a case-by-case basis but generally need to be limited to works less than 50 pounds if the artist will not be present for installation. All accepted entries must be ready for gallery installation. Two-dimensional works must be framed or gallery wrapped and finished to museum quality with proper hanging hardware installed. Three-dimensional work must be ready for gallery installation or, if outdoor work, must withstand inclement weather and temperature changes. The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge will take a 33% commission on all works sold. Exhibition dates: May 26 - July 15, 2022. Artwork pickup: July 18-22, 2022.
