PROUD+ 2022

PROUD+ is the fifth national exhibition of LGBTQIA+ visual arts running from June 4 - July 30, 2022 at The Studio Door in San Diego, CA. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual and other related community artists (LGBTQIA+) are encouraged to present contemporary works that celebrate the unique sense of pride that this diverse community has. The Studio Door is seeking artwork that expresses authentic, diverse viewpoints from the LGBTQIA+ experience. For the first time, the exhibit will be held for two months concurrent with nationally recognized Pride (June) and San Diego Pride (July).

Entry fee is $35 for one artwork submission, $40 for two artworks, or $45 for three artworks. Submissions must be made through CAFÉ (Callforentry.org) by May 1, 2022 at 10:59 PM PST. Artists can submit 1-3 images of 2-D or 3-D work. 2-D artwork must arrive gallery ready and ready to hang, preferably in black wood or natural wood frames with no color mats. 2-D work must use plexi only, no glass. 3-D sculptural and small installation work must fit through an average doorway and not exceed 10 feet in height. Maximum size for 2-D work is 8 feet height by 4 feet width including frame.

The juror will select works for display at The Studio Door gallery in San Diego and/or for the online gallery only. All accepted works are eligible for Best in Show awards. Three works will receive a Juror's Award certificate and $100 each. Artists will be notified by May 7, 2022. Shipped artwork must be received by May 27, 2022, or hand-delivered on May 28, 2022 (Noon-6 PM). Artwork may be picked up August 2, 2022 (Noon-6 PM). Artwork left behind may be subject to a $50 per day late fee and/or discarded. All artwork, including items sold, must remain on exhibit for the duration of the show. Sales split 60% to artist, 40% to The Studio Door, with checks mailed within 30 days after the show closes. International artists are welcome to participate exclusively in the online portion of the exhibition.
