PROUD+ 2020

PROUD+ is a national exhibition of visual arts running from July 3-25, 2020 at The Studio Door in San Diego, CA. The exhibition celebrates LGBTQIA+ artists and encourages submissions of contemporary works that express authentic, diverse viewpoints from the LGBTQIA+ experience. The exhibition runs concurrent with San Diego Pride month.

Accepted categories include fine art: painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, assemblage, collage, mixed media, fiber art, artist book, ceramics, stoneware, stain glass, and sculpture. Oversized jewelry that can be defined as fine art is acceptable. Video, film, installation, and works requiring external electrical source require gallery approval. Submissions must be original work and all artwork must be available for sale. Two-dimensional work maximum size is 8 feet height by 4 feet width including frame. Three-dimensional work must fit through an average doorway and not exceed 10 feet in height.

Entry fee is $35 for one work, $40 for two works, or $45 for three works. Submissions deadline is June 1, 2020 at 10:59 PM PST. Artists will be notified by June 6, 2020. The juror will select works for both the physical gallery and online gallery. A Juror's Award certificate and $100 check will be presented to three works that express the most imaginative interpretation of the theme. All accepted works are included in the national exhibition virtual catalog. Sales split 60% to artist and 40% to The Studio Door. Public reception is Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 6 PM-9 PM.
