PROUD+

PROUD+ is a national exhibition of visual arts running from July 6-27, 2019 at The Studio Door in San Diego, CA. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) artists are encouraged to present contemporary works that celebrate the unique sense of pride that this diverse community has. The Studio Door is seeking artwork that expresses authentic, diverse viewpoints from the LGBTQIA+ experience.

Accepted categories include fine art: painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, assemblage, collage, mixed media, fiber art, artist book, ceramics, stoneware, stain glass, and sculpture. Oversized jewelry that can be defined as fine art is acceptable. The exhibition does not accept small jewelry, video, film, performance art, installation, or works requiring an external electrical source. All submissions must be the artist's original work and must be available for sale.

Entry consists of one to three submissions of images. The entry fee is $35 for the initial entry and $5 for each additional media (1 work = $35; 2 works = $40; 3 works = $45). Submissions must be completed online through CAFÉ before May 31, 2019 at 10:59 PM PST. Artists will be notified by June 5, 2019. The juror will select works for display at The Studio Door gallery in San Diego and for an online gallery. All accepted works are eligible for Best in Show, which awards a certificate and $100 check to three works that express the most imaginative interpretation of the theme. Artists receive 60% of sales, with The Studio Door receiving 40%. Artwork must remain on exhibit for the duration of the show. For 2-dimensional work, maximum size is 8 feet height by 4 feet width including frame. 3-dimensional work must fit through an average doorway and not exceed 10 feet in height. Artwork may be shipped (received by June 28, 2019) or hand-delivered on June 29, 2019 (Noon-7 PM). Pickup is July 30, 2019 (Noon-7 PM).
