Proposal Season 2027 Open Call

Visions Museum of Textile Art (VMOTA) invites textile and fiber artists to submit proposals for solo or group exhibitions in the museum's galleries in 2027. VMOTA hosts three exhibition cycles for main galleries and six exhibition cycles for the Spotlight Gallery. The museum seeks to exhibit a variety of artists working in textile and fiber art mediums and welcomes submissions from national and international artists at all career levels.

Eligibility and Requirements: Entry is open to the general public; museum membership is not required. Artists at all career levels are welcome to apply. Submissions must use textile and fiber art mediums. Each artist may submit one proposal for Proposal Season 2027. The application fee is $20 for VMOTA members and $25 for non-members. The Spotlight Gallery is open to emerging artists within 250 miles of the museum. Proposals must be submitted as a single PDF including an exhibition statement of intent, artist statement, artist biography, CV, and sample images of work. High resolution images should be between 4MB and 10MB. If the proposal document exceeds 24MB, include a link to sample images or the artist's website.

Submissions are due by January 15, 2026, via online form at proposalseason2027.artcall.org. The Curatorial Committee will distribute participating artists among available galleries. Artists retain copyright of their work; VMOTA retains images of selected artworks for promotional and educational purposes with artist acknowledgment. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the museum if accepted, and must provide prepaid self-addressed labels for each work. For questions, contact [email protected].
