About This Call
The Arts Commission of Greater Toledo and ProMedica Health Systems are commissioning a large, hanging, glass installation for a 4-story atrium in ProMedica's new headquarters. The work will be a central feature of the building and part of additions and renovations to the new campus. The project is open to all artists residing in the United States, age 18 and over. Artist teams are eligible to apply, including teams of artists from multiple disciplines.
The budget for this project is $75-100,000, which includes all costs associated with the project including artist's design fee, travel, materials, community engagement initiatives, documentation, transportation, and installation. During preliminary selection, three to five artists or artist teams will be chosen as finalists and invited to submit a proposal. Each finalist will receive $2,500 in compensation for all expenses related to proposal development, with up to $1,000 available for site visit expenses including travel and lodging. Artists will be notified of their status by phone or email no later than May 16, 2016.
Required submission materials include a one-page letter of interest, resume(s), 10 digital images of professional work, and 3 professional references with complete contact information. Optional materials include a one-page statement of intent and up to 3 videos of kinetic work. The Design Review Board will review a limited portfolio in round one, evaluating candidates based on the first 3 images submitted. Installation location: 310 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH.
