About This Call
Progress & Possibilities 2011 is an official online exhibition of the International Polymer Clay Association designed to encourage and acknowledge promise, innovation, and individuality in the work of individual polymer clay artists at all stages of professional development, and to advance public awareness of and appreciation for the fine craft of polymer clay.
Eligibility requirements: You must be an official member of the IPCA. Works must have been completed in 2011 and made from at least 75% polymer clay (which must be visible). The work must not have been entered into previous competitions or published in print materials or in online media, websites, or blogs—unless the latter two are the artist's own. The concept, design, and execution of the artwork must be solely that of the applicant.
You may enter up to three pieces of artwork. You may submit up to two images of each work entered—two views or a complete view and a detail. Each piece submitted must include a brief description (no more than 1000 characters) of the materials and techniques used. Artists will declare their own level of expertise (Beginner, Intermediate, or Professional) and must choose the same level for every piece submitted. The Committee reserves the right to change the level selected by the entrant. Work categories include Art Jewelry, Functional Objects, and Sculptural Objects. Entry fee is $30 per artist. Entries will close on November 15, 2012, and no deadline extensions will be offered. After the close of the competition, all entries will appear in the Members Only section of the IPCA website. Members will have the opportunity to vote for their choices in each category at each level. Winners of both the juried competition, including Best in Show, and the Members Choice will be announced early in January 2012.
