About This Call
Professional Development Grants are a subset of Telluride Arts' Artist Grants (TAAGs) program, broken into two categories: visual arts and performing arts. Grants are set at $2,500 and awarded annually to applicants within each category who effectively demonstrate their commitment towards professional development, the advancement of their craft, and the enrichment of the Telluride community through their artistic pursuits. Community benefit is at the heart of the program and must be clearly outlined in the application.
Applicants must live and/or work in the Telluride region. There are no age limitations. TAAG applicants are limited to one submission per grant cycle; multiple applications by the same artist will not be considered. If an artist submits an application for a Professional Development grant, they will be ineligible to apply for additional TAAGs within the same calendar year, excepting Flash Grants. Applicants with open projects funded by Telluride Artist Grants or Augment Musician Grants are not eligible. Employees or board members of Telluride Arts and their immediate family or spouses are ineligible.
Applications must include: Statement of Intention, Project Overview, Work Samples (literary, photo, audio, or video content), Purpose of Funding, Proof of Cost, Project Budget, and Community Benefit explanation. Applications must be submitted in the name of an individual artist; for collaborative projects, one artist must be the lead applicant. Work sample requirements: minimum 1 image (maximum 10), 0-5 audio files, 0-5 video files, with a total of 2-20 samples. All TAAG funded projects must be shared with the Telluride community upon completion. Applications are subject to blind review by designated committees or juror panels. Grants will be awarded and all applicants informed of status by June 2, 2025.
