About This Call
Privilege and Consequence is a juried photography exhibition examining disparate advantages and their consequences. According to exhibition juror Kris Graves: "Privilege always leads to consequences. Over the course of history, the few have always guided the ideals of the masses. Currently, we live in a society that is governed and policed by corporations and their advertisements. This exhibition will focus on the disparate advantages of the few and the palpable consequences of those actions on the masses. While basing our exhibition along the history of art, we will take a contemporary look at how art and photography fight against the status quo."
Entry is open to regional, national, and international artists, members and non-members of CPAC. All lens-based media are eligible, including images made by film or video camera, scanner, screen-capture, digital camera, and any means of mobile photography. Applicants must submit 3-10 images and up to 3 videos (3-13 total samples). Entry fee is $30 for members and $35 for non-members for up to 3 images; $4 per additional image for members and $5 for non-members. Acceptance notification will be sent October 15, 2021. Work must be received by November 19, 2021. The exhibition runs November 26, 2021 – January 8, 2022, with an opening reception on Saturday, December 4, 2021, 5-8pm (TBA based on COVID-19).
The Colorado Photographic Arts Center is dedicated to fostering the understanding and appreciation of excellent photography in all forms and concepts through exhibitions, education and community outreach. For questions, contact 303-837-1341 or [email protected].
