Printwork 2016

Artists Image Resource (AIR) is accepting entries for Printwork 2016, a national juried exhibition of contemporary printmaking. This exhibition is a way to make the best of contemporary printmaking visible to a large audience in the Pittsburgh region. Special consideration will be given to socially and politically engaged print work.

Eligibility: Open to all artists living in the United States 18 years of age and older. All artwork must be original and completed within the last 3 years. Work should not exceed 48" in any dimension. Entries must incorporate traditional, digital, or experimental printed media. No photographs, but artist's books are welcome. Entry fee is $35 for 3 entries, $5 for each additional work. Maximum of 5 images per entry. Applicants must submit 3-6 images.

Timeline: Entry deadline is October 16, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notification of acceptance will be sent November 9. Accepted works must be received by November 23. Opening reception is December 9, with the exhibition closing February 4. Work will be returned March 6. Juror is Althea Murphy Price, Associate Professor of Art at the University of Tennessee. Awards include cash prizes and an exhibition opportunity. The juror will announce cash awards during the opening reception. AIR Director Robert Beckman and the AIR Board of Directors will choose one artist for an exhibition opportunity. Accepted artwork must be suitable for formal gallery presentation and packaged shipping. All work must be professionally framed, wired, and ready to hang. Artists are responsible for shipping costs and insurance during transit. AIR will insure all works from arrival to departure. Artists are responsible for return shipping costs. AIR will receive 20% of any sales and reserves the right to reproduce accepted entries in press releases, website, and advertising.
