About This Call
PrintTX 2015 is an exhibition of contemporary Texas printmaking to be held at Nicole Longnecker Gallery during PRINTHOUSTON 2015. The exhibition welcomes work in lithography, relief, intaglio, monoprint/monotype, screen prints, animation, installations, ceramics, sculpture, mixed media, video, and artists' books, provided the primary technique(s) used is one of those listed.
Eligibility is open to all artists currently living in Texas and permanent residents of the state living elsewhere, 18 years and older. Work must be original, not exceed 96 inches in any direction, be completed in the last two years, and not previously shown in Houston. No student work, reproductions, or photography. Entry fee is $45 for up to 3 entries. Selected artists must submit an artist statement, short biography, resume, and 300 dpi images by April 15. All work must be for sale with a 50% gallery commission. The juror is Karen Kunc, Cather Professor of Art at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Awards will be announced at a reception on June 28, 1-3 p.m.
Work must be shipped ready to hang with framing, d-rings, and Plexiglas (exceptions for oversized works, installations, 3-D, video, and artists' books). All work is due at Nicole Longnecker Gallery, 2625 Colquitt Street, Houston, TX 77098 by 5 p.m. May 28. Artists are responsible for shipping costs and must include a prepaid return shipping label. The gallery will insure all work upon arrival. Hand-delivered work may be picked up beginning July 9, 11-5 p.m., with return shipping beginning August 1.
