Printmaking Residency at Remarque

Remarque Print Workshop is offering a week-long printmaking residency for eight artists total—four for each of two sessions held February 4-9 and March 11-16, 2019. The residency takes place at the workshop's 3,000 square foot facility in Albuquerque, NM.

Selected artists will have complete 24-hour access to the studio, which includes six Takach presses, Akua inks, exposure unit, plate cutter, and etching tanks. Applicants are expected to have prior printmaking knowledge but need not be familiar with non-toxic Akua inks and etching processes. Artists must purchase their own paper, plates, and additional materials. Remarque does not provide food or lodging but recommends affordable Airbnb rentals nearby. The workshop seeks printmakers who can work independently and welcomes artists at various stages of their practice. Artists may be invited to teach a workshop, participate in a pop-up show, or give an artist talk.

To apply, submit three to five images of your artwork, a resume, and a short bio via CAFE. Also send a description (less than one page) of the project(s) you plan to work on during the residency to [email protected]. The entry fee is $30. In return for the residency, selected artists are asked to donate one print to the gallery.
