About This Call

"Printmaking in the Rockies and on the Great Plains" is a juried invitational exhibition running March 15 to May 3, 2020. The exhibition is open to artists living in Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming. Original work only (no reproductions or photomechanical prints) with emphasis on traditional hand-pulled printmaking techniques including relief, intaglio, lithography, and serigraphy. Maximum artwork dimensions cannot exceed 40"x40". Entry fee is $35 for up to four submissions.

Awards include: Ludmila Dranchak Best of Show ($1,500), 1st Place ($1,000), 2nd Place ($500), 3rd Place ($250), and $1,750 available for Brinton Museum Purchase Awards. The juror is nationally known artist Theodore Waddell, a 2015 Montana Governor's Arts Award recipient and Artist of the Year by the Yellowstone Art Museum. Artwork must be framed and ready-to-hang, delivered to The Brinton Museum no later than February 21, 2020. For sold work, artists receive 70% of their list price and The Brinton Museum receives a 30% sales commission. Jury date is January 20, 2020.
