About This Call

Printed Page V is an exhibition of hand-crafted book-works open to artists 18 years of age or older living and working in the United States. Eligible works must utilize a form of traditional hand printed media as the primary element, including monoprint, monotype, screen print, intaglio, photopolymer, photogravure, collagraph, lithography, woodcut, linocut, and letterpress. Submissions may include digital output or mixed-media elements within the greater work, but finished works composed solely of inkjet, risograph, photocopy, laser engraving, or giclée reproductions are ineligible. Book works larger than 18 inches in any dimension when closed may be challenging to display fully open.

Submission fee is $35 for up to 2 pieces. Discounted submission fees of $20 are available for students, artists experiencing economic hardship, artists who identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), and artists who identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. Submissions are accepted online from March 1, 2025 through October 12, 2025. Each submission must include a minimum of 2 and maximum of 12 images and/or videos (maximum 6 videos). Selections will be made by Katherine Crowe, Special Collections Curator at University of Denver Libraries, and Alicia Bailey, Director of Abecedarian Artists' Books.

Accepted works will be exhibited in glass cases at Anderson Academic Commons from January 5, 2026 through March 20, 2026. All exhibited work is expected to be for sale at prices submitted during the application process. Abecedarian Artists' Books retains a 40% commission on works sold. Works are insured for 60% of retail value while on premises. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance costs in transit. An online catalog will remain available during and after the exhibition. Accepted artists will receive a consignment agreement, insurance agreement, and delivery guidelines upon notification.
