Primal Disposition II: Dual Dilemma

Primal Disposition II: Dual Dilemma seeks to showcase works of art that deal with the concept of duality that are raw, dark, religious, psychological, emotive, primitive, earthen, sexual, sensory, confrontational, and instinctual. The exhibition is also looking for work that is primal in the materials used: foundational, basic, primary, elemental, and/or not of this world. Work should ideally have been created in the last three years and must be original artwork ready to display. The exhibition is open to emerging, mid-career, and professional artists over age 18 from the United States and Canada.

Applicants may submit up to nine entries. Two entries are included in the $27 application fee, with an additional $5 charge per entry for submissions over two. Work must be for sale and cannot have been previously displayed at Vestige Concept Gallery. Giclees or reproductions of original works will not be accepted unless the work itself is a Giclee or digital print. Accepted artwork must match the submitted images exactly, with no substitutions. Vestige Concept Gallery will retain a 30% commission for any artwork sold. Artists are responsible for shipping and return shipping costs. 2D work must not exceed 30 pounds including frame. Wall pieces must be securely wired, framed, and properly prepared for display. 3D work or audio/video submissions require prior discussion with the gallery.

The in-person opening reception will be held Saturday, October 8th at 6 PM with a special live performance or DJ. The exhibition runs from October 8 to November 13, 2022. Shipped works must arrive no later than Thursday, October 6th. Artists will be notified of acceptance on or before September 25th. Accepted artists must provide confirmation of acceptance, an artist photo, short bio, and web/social links for promotion and the online version of the show.
