Primal Disposition

Primal Disposition seeks to showcase works of art that are raw, emotive, primitive, earthen, sexual, sensory, confrontational, and instinctual. The exhibition also welcomes work that is primal in materials used: foundational, basic, primary colors, elemental, and/or textural. Work from emerging, mid-career, and professional artists is accepted, provided submissions relate to the exhibition theme.

Eligibility is open to artists age 18 and over in the United States and Canada. Work should ideally have been created in the last three years and must be original artwork ready to display. Previously displayed work at Vestige Concept Gallery is not eligible. All work must be for sale with realistic pricing; no "NFS" or deliberate overpricing. Giclees or reproductions are not accepted unless the work itself is a Giclee, which must be noted in the media tag.

Entry fee is $25 for two submissions, with an additional $5 per entry for up to eight total entries. Applicants must submit a minimum of 2 work samples along with artist bio and statement. The application deadline is October 2, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artists will be notified of acceptance by October 3rd. Shipped work must arrive by October 13, 2021. The in-person opening reception is Saturday, October 16th at 6 PM, with a special live performance or DJ. The exhibition runs October 15 - November 21, 2021. Vestige Concept Gallery retains a 30% commission on sold artwork. Artists are responsible for shipping costs and insurance to and from the gallery. 2D work must not exceed 30 lbs including frame. 3D work and audio/video submissions require gallery discussion and will be placed on a waitlist.
