About This Call
This exhibition seeks authentic voices of any visual medium presenting a manifesto vision of a shared future during LGBTQ+ Pride 2021. Accepted artwork will be featured in a month-long exhibition at Proyecto Galería in Mexico City, curated by Micheal Swank. Entries will be juried and selected based on technical application, originality, and concept.
Accepted mediums include painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. Proposals may include multiple disciplines. All work must be original, unsold, and the artist must own sole copyright. 2D artwork selected for exhibition must be ready to hang with professional quality frames, mats, and wiring. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance. Shipments must include prepaid UPS or FedEx return labels and be in reusable containers. No packing peanuts are permitted.
Entry fee is $45 for 3 images, with additional images at $5 each (maximum 20 images total). Selected artists will be featured in a full-color book titled MANIFESTO, published by Dab Art and added to the permanent catalog in the LACMA Balch Art Research Library. In addition to the physical exhibition (June 25 - July 25), work will be available online for 2 months (through August 25) and listed on Artsy, Dab Art Co.'s online sales platform. Gallery retains 50% commission on all sales. Payment to artists is provided within 60 days after the exhibit concludes and receipt of full payment from buyer. Notifications of selected artists will be sent via email on June 5.
