PressForward 2025

PrintHouston announces PressForward 2025, a contemporary student printmaking exhibition to be held at BOX13 in Houston, TX in fall 2025. The exhibition seeks exceptional works from current high school students or students currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program in the United States. Original works in all printmaking media are eligible, including lithographs, screenprints, relief prints, intaglio, monoprints, and letterpress. Digital and mixed media works are accepted if they incorporate a traditional printmaking medium as a main component. No photography or digital reproductions of original works will be accepted. Works must be completed within the last two years and not previously shown in Houston. Works must not exceed 48 inches in any direction.

Submissions consist of up to three jpeg images prepared following CaFÉ entry media specifications. The entry fee is $25 for up to three entries. The juror is J. Leigh Garcia, an artist and Associate Professor in Printmaking at the University of Tennessee School of Art. Awards include First Place ($450), Second Place ($300), and Third Place ($150). PrintHouston will produce a show catalog for accepted artists. All accepted works must be available for the duration of the exhibition. Artists are responsible for shipping costs and must include prepaid return shipping labels. Works will be insured upon arrival at BOX13. The exhibition runs October 24 through November 22, 2025, with an opening reception and juror's talk on October 24 at 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. respectively. Prints may be offered for sale with PrintHouston receiving 40% commission and the artist receiving 60%.
