Prequalified Artists for Public Art Program

The City of Rahway invites artists to submit their qualifications for the Public Art Program. The City will create a list of pre-qualified artists through this call. Artists chosen for the Pre-qualified Artist List will be eligible for consideration for upcoming public art projects, murals, and sculpture installations in the City of Rahway. Pre-qualified artists will remain on the list through December 2026. Inclusion in the list does not guarantee a commission.

Applications must be submitted electronically through CallforEntry.org by 11:59 PM Mountain Time on May 15, 2024. Submissions should include: an artist bio detailing relevant professional experience in public art; and up to ten (10) portfolio images with descriptions including location, completion date, dimensions, materials, and project budget. Do not include proposals or design ideas. All submissions will be reviewed by the City of Rahway's Arts Committee, consisting of local artists, community stakeholders, and City Administrators. Artists will be selected based on complete application submission, artistic merit demonstrated through quality of artwork, and professional experience with completed public art projects. Artists will be notified of the Committee's decision by early July 2024.

This opportunity is open to professional artists and artist teams residing within a 50-mile radius of Rahway, New Jersey 07065. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have all necessary documentation and permits to work in the United States. Applicants are required to have a New Jersey Business Registration Certificate or equivalent registration based on state of residence. Artists with experience creating murals, sculpture, digital projections, and other forms of public art are invited to apply.
