About This Call
Arquetopia offers a three-week mentored instructional program in Mesoamerican codex painting, connecting traditional tlacuilo painting techniques with contemporary practice. Participants receive 27 hours of master instruction in pigment preparation, amate paper painting, and codex line work, along with individual mentoring from directorial and curatorial staff. Instruction is conducted in Spanish, though Spanish fluency is not required. The program is designed for artists interested in traditional Mesoamerican artistic heritage and its application to contemporary art making.
