About This Call
The Prairie Village Arts Council invites 2D and 3D artists to submit work for exhibition in 2025. Artists must be 18 years or older and within driving distance to deliver and pick up artwork and attend the artist reception if selected. Artwork must be original, not more than 2 years old, not created in a class or under supervision of another artist, and not copied from published or others' photos without written permission. Copyright infringement will result in disqualification.
Submit 12-20 samples of artwork representing your capability, style, and medium, with a brief description of each. Entry fee is $25 (non-refundable). All work must be for sale. Prices listed on the entry form are binding and cannot be changed after submission. If the Prairie Village Arts Council facilitates the sale, a 10% commission applies; otherwise, artists may sell directly with no commission. Exhibits are displayed for two or four months depending on gallery location. The Prairie Village municipal gallery has 204 linear feet of wall space; the Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse gallery has 55 linear feet. All 2D artwork must be framed, D-ringed, wired, and ready for hanging, with framed size not exceeding 25 square feet. All 3D work cannot exceed 17 inches in any dimension.
Installations take place on Saturday mornings, with shows opening the following Monday and closing on Friday. Artist receptions are held on the Wednesday following installation and artist attendance is required. Selected exhibitors will be notified of delivery and installation dates. Purchased artwork must remain in the gallery until closing. Artwork not retrieved will be charged a storage fee of $10 per day. Any artwork unclaimed 30 days after exhibition closing becomes property of the City of Prairie Village. The Prairie Village Arts Council will feature the artist and exhibit in the Prairie Village Voice Newsletter, Arts Council website, social media, and local newspapers. Artists are expected to provide reciprocal publicity through their own channels.
