Postcards to Pacifica (P2P)

Sanchez Art Center invites Bay Area artists ages 9 and older to submit original 2-D fine art visual media (excluding photography, though photography may be included in mixed media works) representing Pacifica's nine neighborhoods: Fairmont, Fairway, Linda Mar, Manor, Park Pacifica/Sun Valley, Pedro Point, Rockaway Beach, Sharp Park, and Vallemar.

Artists may submit up to 12 images as jpeg files. The entry fee is $8 for one image and $2 for each additional image. The entry deadline is Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 11 pm Pacific Daylight Time. Accepted artists will be notified by 5 pm on Tuesday, August 27. Nine artists will be selected to receive $100 each, with at least one award going to an artist 17 or younger. Selected works will be printed in postcard format and distributed at community events through June 2020, with community members invited to write on the card backs about what they love about their neighborhoods.

By submitting work, artists grant Sanchez Art Center permission to reproduce the work in postcard and other formats for the project and for publicity, promotion, fundraising, and archival purposes. Artists retain their original artworks. Postcards to Pacifica is supported by grant funding from the San Mateo County Arts Commission and sponsorship from the Pacific Coast Fog Fest "Gift to Pacifica" Fund.
