Portrayed: d'Art's Third Annual Juried Exhibition of Portraiture

Portrayed is an annual open medium juried exhibition of original and unique 2D and 3D portraiture artworks. Work must depict a human figure or human face to be considered. This exhibition welcomes work in a variety of styles including Realism, Traditional, Abstract, Modern, Impressionist, Pop Art, Cubism, Surrealism, Contemporary, and Street art. Work must be hang or pedestal ready, with a maximum dimension of 60" and weight limit of 50 pounds.

The exhibition will be juried by photographer Glen McClure and gallery manager and Center Curator Amanda Bradley. The exhibition runs July 1-29, 2023, with a reception on Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 5:30-7:30pm. The exhibition will be featured both in person at d'Art Center's Main Gallery (740 Boush St, Norfolk, Virginia) and digitally on d'Art Center's archive site. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by email by 5pm on Monday, June 5, 2023. Accepted works must arrive by 5pm Saturday, June 24, 2023.

Entry fee is $35 for 3 works (one image per submission), with additional submissions at $5 each (maximum of 10 total submissions). Submissions must include 3-10 images. Eligibility is open to all artists 18 or older residing in the United States. All work must be original, created without instructor or kit assistance, and produced within the last eight years. Awards include 1st Place ($500), 2nd Place ($300), and 3rd Place ($150). d'Art Center retains a 60/40 commission on sales (60% artist, 40% d'Art Center). Payments are settled after the exhibition ends.
