Portrayed: d'Art's Second Annual National Juried Exhibition of Portraiture

Portrayed is an annual open medium juried exhibition of original and unique 2D and 3D portraiture artworks. Work must either depict a human figure or be a self-portrait to be considered. This exhibition is open to all functional and non-functional work in all mediums and all styles. The exhibition will be held in person at d'Art Center's Main Gallery (740 Boush St., Norfolk, Virginia) and will also be featured digitally on d'Art Center's archive site.

The exhibition is open to all artists 18 or older residing in the United States. All work must be original, created without the aid of an instructor or kit, and produced within the last eight years. Work cannot exceed 50 pounds or be longer than 60 inches in its longest dimension (size and weight restrictions may be waived by contacting the gallery manager). Entry fee is $35 for 3 works, with additional submissions at $5 each (maximum 10 submissions). Artists must submit 3-10 images. Awards include 1st Place ($500), 2nd Place ($300), and 3rd Place ($150). The gallery commission on sales is 60/40 (60% artist, 40% d'Art Center).

Exhibition dates are July 2-30, 2022, with a reception on Friday, July 8, 2022, 5:30-7:30pm. Accepted works must arrive by 5pm Saturday, June 25, 2022. Notifications will be sent by email by 5pm Monday, June 13, 2022. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the gallery and must provide pre-paid return labels through UPS or FedEx. Hand-delivered works are accepted through pre-arrangement. All work must be hang/presentation ready. The d'Art Center is not responsible for damage during shipping and transit; artists should insure their work.
