PORTRAITURE

Specto Art Space is accepting portrait submissions for a juried exhibition. The theme is PORTRAITURE, and artists may submit self-portraits, portraits of friends, family, pets, or any portrait subject. Accepted media includes photography, digital art, graphic design, scanography, phoneography, and other digital or inkjet-printable work.

Entry fee is $35 for up to 5 images, with each additional image costing $7 (maximum 10 entries per artist). Submissions must include 5-10 images or video samples. The deadline is February 25, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Accepted artists will be notified by February 12, 2018 and must provide print-ready files within 7 days. The exhibition will be displayed during April, with an opening reception on Saturday, April 14. Each juried show features 20-24 accepted works.

Specto provides free printing, matting, and framing of accepted works using archival materials and an Epson SureColor P6000 printer. Accepted artwork dimensions are 12"x12", 12"x15", 12"x16", or 12"x18"; artists with work outside these parameters should contact the gallery. Awards include $400 for best in show and two $50 honorable mentions. Artists retain copyright of their work. Exhibition prints are not for sale but are archived for ongoing promotion. If work sells, Specto takes a 35% commission with 65% going to the artist. All accepted works are catalogued and placed in an archival flatfile for use by galleries, curators, and purchasers.
