About This Call
Disjecta's 6,000 square foot exhibition space will serve as the key venue for Portland2012, with the exhibition expanded to partnering spaces for satellite exhibitions. The exhibition may include visual arts, new media, and performance-based works. Selected artists will each receive a small stipend, which may be used to create new work for the exhibition. The exhibition will be supported by a catalog.
All Oregon artists are invited to submit examples of their recent work. To be eligible, artists must have lived in Oregon as a primary residence for the last two years. The curator will review applications and conduct studio visits before announcing selected artists in early fall.
Artists must submit: a two-page resume (PDF), exactly 10 images of recent work (JPEG files), an Image Identification List (PDF) providing project title, date completed, media, dimensions, project partners if any, and brief description, and optionally an Artist Statement of Interest (2000 characters or less). Moving image files will not be accepted; artists specializing in kinetic or sound works should describe the action of the piece in the Image Identification List. Applications are only accepted through CaFE (www.callforentry.org). The deadline for submissions is 11:59 PM MDT, August 12, 2012. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
