Portfolio Prize 2018

Specto announces the Portfolio Prize 2018 Awards, offering artists the opportunity to exhibit their work at Superfine! DC 2019, a fine arts fair held October 30th - November 3rd, 2019 at Union Market in Washington DC. The entry fee is $45 for up to 10 entries. Artists must submit 7-10 images of work in any of the following media: photography, digital art, graphic design, scanography, painting, watercolor, drawing, sculpture, or new media.

Grand Prize winners receive a 36"x36" square space at Superfine! DC 2019 and a limited edition print run of their work, printed and packaged by Specto at no cost. Specto will assist with curation and presentation. For artists who prefer not to have prints made, Specto will provide promotional takeaway materials at no cost. Artists are welcome to attend the fair and can be assigned booth hours to represent their work. Honorable Mention winners (4 artists) will have their work included in a print rack inside Specto's booth, with limited edition prints printed and matted for sale. Three additional artists receive free entry to the next annual portfolio prize application.

Notification of acceptance occurs 10-14 days after the deadline. Accepted artists have 7 days to provide print-ready files. All sales include a 35% commission to Specto with 65% going to the artist. Artists retain copyright of their work and Specto will only use work in promotional materials with permission. Works are cataloged in an archive after each show to promote artists to galleries, curators, and purchasers.
