About This Call

Portfolio 2020: Best of 2019 is a web-based exhibit open to members of Front Range Contemporary Quilters. The exhibit will feature the best work completed by members in 2019 on the FRCQ website from January 31 through December 31, 2020. The juror will select entries that collectively showcase the diversity of work being made in the region within the art quilt medium.

Eligibility: Artists must be FRCQ members in 2020 to enter. Work must meet the Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) definition for art quilt and must have been completed during the 2019 calendar year. Single, diptych, triptych, or other multiple-piece works, framed, mounted, three-dimensional, or wearable works may be submitted. Work must be original and the result of independent effort. Work that was begun, worked on, or resulted from a workshop and is in the style of the workshop teacher is not eligible. Work need not be in your possession since this is a web-based exhibit.

Submission Details: Entry fee is $35.00 (nonrefundable). Each member may enter up to three art quilts by submitting separate applications; coupon codes Entry2 and Entry3 waive the additional entry fees. Entries open November 20, 2019 and close December 31, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Two-dimensional entries require two images (overall and detail); three-dimensional entries require three images (two overall views and one detail). Images must be in JPEG or JPG format, 1200 pixels or greater on the longest side, under 5 MB, and in sharp focus on a neutral background with all edges visible. Notification of selected work will be sent January 20, 2020. The juror is Jean Wells, author, educator, designer, and founder of the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show. Payment can be made by credit card through the online submission system or by check mailed to: Portfolio entry, c/o Dorothy Raymond, 4093 Roaring Fork Dr, Loveland, CO 80538-4848.
