Pompano Beach Cultural Arts Center Sculpture Commission

The City of Pompano Beach will commission an artist or artist team for the design and installation of a significant sculpture to be located at the North Entrance of the Pompano Beach Cultural Arts Center, 50 W Atlantic Blvd, Pompano Beach, FL 33060. The sculpture should enhance the architecture of the Cultural Arts Center building.

The commissioned artwork will be a sculpture of significant size with integrated lighting preferred. An interactive sculpture is optional. The sculpture should be abstract and non-representational, standalone, and visible from Atlantic Blvd. The artwork concrete slab must not exceed 20 feet by 15 feet. The purchase budget is $97,000.00 and includes all insurance, taxes, fees, permits, delivery, lighting, concrete base/pad installation, engineering, and artwork installation. Applicants must submit a detailed budget list and are responsible for obtaining all necessary permits prior to fabrication and installation. The design must be code compliant and able to withstand South Florida weather conditions and wind load requirements.

Submit 3-8 images of work samples. International artists are eligible. The artist will be required to maintain comprehensive insurance coverage including General Liability ($1,000,000 per occurrence/$2,000,000 aggregate), Automobile Liability ($1,000,000), Professional Liability ($1,000,000), and Employer's Liability ($100,000 per employee/$500,000 aggregate). The City of Pompano Beach must be named as an additional insured on all coverage.
