Politics (NOT) AS USUAL

Branner Spangenberg Gallery invites artists to submit original 2D artwork responding to the 2016 Presidential Election. The gallery welcomes all political perspectives—from savage satire to rapturous idealism and all compass points in between. Artists must be able to hand-deliver and pick up artwork; no mail-ins accepted.

Eligibility and Requirements: Open to artists residing in the San Francisco Bay Area. Artwork must be original 2D work completed within the last three years or specifically created for this exhibition. Maximum size including frame is 18"x24". All artwork must be framed or gallery wrapped (no staples showing on sides) with hanging wire positioned 2/3 distance from bottom using "D" ring hardware. All entries must be for sale. Entry fee is $35.00 (covers up to 3 entries). Submit up to 3 images online through CAFÉ for Artists. Artwork must be identified on the back with artist name, title, media, year created, dimensions, and price.

Deadlines and Schedule: Entry deadline is August 31, 2016 at 11:59:59 PM MST. Artists will be notified by email on September 10, 2016. Hand delivery of accepted artwork is September 23 (11 AM–4 PM) or September 24 (1–4 PM) at 275A Linden Street, Redwood City, CA 94601. The exhibition runs September 30–November 13, 2016, with gallery hours Saturday and Sunday 1–4 PM. Opening reception with best of show announcement is Friday, October 7, 2016 at 5:30–7:30 PM. Artwork pickup is November 13 (4–6 PM), November 14, or November 15 (Noon–5 PM). Branner Spangenberg Gallery retains 50% commission on all sales. Payment for sold artwork will be mailed to artists within 30 days of show closing.
