About This Call
Fraser Valley Arts announces the 5th Annual Plein Air @ Altitude, taking place Saturday August 23rd through Sunday August 31st. This plein air painting event invites juried artists from across the country to paint at private ranches, Winter Park Resort, Grand Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park, and other locations throughout Grand County. Previous years have featured over 80 paintings sold and attracted participating artists from across the country.
PA@A 2025 features increased prize amounts for award winners ranging from $2,500 to $500, optional painting opportunities at different times throughout the year including a winter painting location, the option to submit one studio painting to the show, and expanded sales opportunities through Fraser Valley Arts' events. The 2025 judge is Lorenzo Chavez. Community events include evening artist gatherings, a Reception and Gala Open House Saturday evening in downtown Winter Park, a public viewing on Sunday, September 1st, and time with the featured artist judge.
This event is a fundraiser for Fraser Valley Arts, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Fraser Valley Arts retains 40 percent of all sales revenue with artists receiving 60 percent. Commissioned pieces are permitted at the same rate. Payments for sold work will be mailed shortly after the exhibition closes. Artist applications open in January and close May 1st, 2025 or when capacity is full. Acceptances are on a rolling basis. Plein air artists willing to participate in a majority of the main painting week (August 24-31) are invited to apply. Entry fee is $40. Submit 3-5 images.
