Plein Air PaintOut - Novi

Art As Healing Foundation is presenting a suburban style plein air paint-out. The event encourages painting of the suburban landscape and plein air work done in an evening atmosphere as the light shifts during this time of day. The paint-out takes place from 6-10 p.m. on August 27th, 2022, at Twelve Mile Crossing at Fountain Walk by Launch Entertainment, 44255 W. Twelve Mile Rd., Novi, MI. Work must reflect the immediate area of Twelve Mile Crossing at Fountain Walk and the few blocks within that area, including the plaza around Emagine! Theater and nearby stores.

The administrative/registration fee is $15. The number of artists is limited to 25 official participants. Artist registration requires four photographs of plein air work. Check-in is at 6 p.m. on August 27th. Artists must bring all their own materials including paper, canvas, easel, paints, pencils, chair, and a drop cloth. Work must be stamped and labeled on the back to be included in scoring, ensuring the work was completed on-site that same day. Finished work must be returned to the designated area by 9 p.m. to be included in scoring. Winners will be announced at 10 p.m.

Prizes total $1,000: First place $500, Second place $300, Third place $200. The event will only be rescheduled if there is a storm, not for light rain. A rain date is TBD.
