Plein Air on the Santa Cruz 2024

Join a five-day plein air retreat at the historic Rancho Santa Cruz in southern Arizona, approximately one hour south of Tucson on the Santa Cruz River in a grove of cottonwood trees. The retreat runs October 28-31, 2024, with instructor Greg Wallace. All mediums are welcome, with instruction geared towards a beginning professional level; some experience is recommended. Artists must be 18 years of age or older.

Participation requires application through the call for entry website with a $25 exhibit fee and one image sample. The first 16 applicants will be accepted. Retreat cost is $275 and includes instruction, demonstrations, paint outs, receptions, and ranch barbecue. Lodging at Rancho Santa Cruz is separate: Single Room $900 (6 nights, breakfast included), Suite $630 (6 nights, breakfast included), or Shared Room $510 (6 nights, breakfast included). A 30% deposit is due August 1st, 2024, with full refund available before October 1st, 2024. Check-in is Sunday, October 27th after 2pm for lodging guests or Monday, October 28th for local artists.

Artwork created during the retreat will be exhibited at Tubac Center of the Arts Front Gallery from November 1-11, 2024, with an opening reception Friday, November 1st, 5-7pm.
