About This Call
The Tubac Center of the Arts and Rancho Santa Cruz announce "Plein Air on the Santa Cruz," Tubac's first Plein Air Retreat and Workshop, culminating in an exhibition and sale during the Fall Arts & Crafts Festival, November 3rd and 4th, 2018. This is a unique opportunity for artists to experience southern Arizona's ranch life and an enriching artistic experience with fellow plein air artists from the region and beyond.
The retreat runs from Tuesday, October 30th through Sunday, November 4th. A variety of guest artist packages are available with or without meals and lodging at the ranch. All packages include paint outs, workshops, welcome reception, barbecue, Sunday brunch, and snacks, as well as the opportunity to show and sell work at the Tubac Center of the Arts during the Fall Arts Festival. Package A ($750.00) includes a private room for 6 nights and 4 breakfasts. Package B ($600.00) includes a shared room for 6 nights and 4 breakfasts. Package C ($275.00) includes no lodging or breakfasts. Entry fee is $15.00. The juror and instructor is Greta Ward, a fine artist whose work has been shown in galleries nationally.
Tubac is one of Arizona's oldest towns, an 1800's Spanish Presidio turned artist colony, located 45 minutes south of Tucson. The historic Rancho Santa Cruz, located in a grove of cottonwood trees along the Santa Cruz River, offers lodging and a gallery featuring local artists. For more information, contact Michael Fenlason at [email protected] or 520-398-2371.
