Plein Air Artists Colorado 26th National Juried Art Exhibit and Sale

The 26th Annual National Juried Fine Art Exhibition and Sale will be held October 2 – November 5, 2023 at The Blumenschein Museum, 222 Ledoux Street, Taos, NM 87571. The last show awarded nearly $20,000 in prizes (cash and merchandise). The Juror of Awards is Joe Anna Arnett. Entries will be independently scored by a panel of nationally recognized, professional plein air artists who are signature members in at least one major national art organization. PAAC will maintain an online catalog of all accepted works on their website.

Eligibility is open to all current PAAC Members. Work must be two-dimensional media, excluding photography, fiber and digital media. Only original paintings completed "en plein air" in 2021, 2022 and until the deadline in 2023 are eligible. Maximum unframed size is 154 square inches. Studio paintings, still life paintings not clearly completed outdoors, work done in class or under instructor guidance, and works previously exhibited in PAAC National shows are not eligible. Artists who withdraw an entry after acceptance will not be eligible to enter any PAAC exhibition for the two succeeding years.

Entry fees are $50 for up to 3 submissions, plus $10 for each additional submission up to 2 (total of 5 submissions = $70). A minimum of 3 submissions is required; a maximum of 5 images may be submitted, but a maximum of 2 may be selected to hang in the show. Entry deadline is June 16, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Entrants will be notified by July 1, 2023 via email. Paintings must be professionally framed in fine art gallery-quality wood frames, wired and ready to hang. Works on paper must be under glass or Plexiglas. Minimum sale price is $450. Gallery/PAAC commission applies (50% Artist, 40% Gallery, 10% PAAC). All fees are non-refundable. Artists are responsible for shipping charges and insuring their own work during transit and display. Accepted artwork must arrive at the gallery between September 27-29, 2023. Unsold artwork may be picked up November 6-10, 2023 between 10am and 4pm.
