Plein Air Artists Colorado 24th Annual National Juried Fine Art Exhibition and Sale

Plein Air Artists Colorado's 24th Annual National Juried Fine Art Exhibition and Sale will be held October 2-30, 2020 at Wilder Nightingale Fine Art, 119-A Kit Carson Road, Taos, New Mexico 87571. The exhibition is open to all current PAAC members. Nearly $20,000 in prizes (cash and merchandise) were awarded last year. The juror of awards is Frank LaLumia. Entries will be independently scored by a panel of nationally recognized professional plein air artists who are signature members in at least one major national art organization.

Eligible work must be two-dimensional original paintings completed en plein air in 2018, 2019, and until the deadline in 2020. Studio paintings, still life paintings not clearly completed outdoors, work done in class or under instructor guidance, and works previously exhibited in PAAC National shows are not eligible. Maximum unframed size is 320 square inches. Entry fee is $50 for up to 3 submissions, with an additional $10 for a fourth image. Artists must submit 3-4 digital images for jurying. A maximum of 2 accepted works may be selected to hang in the show.

Artists are responsible for shipping costs and insuring their own work. Minimum sale price is $450. Commission structure is 50% artist, 40% gallery, 10% PAAC. Paintings must be professionally framed in fine art gallery-quality wood frames, wired and ready to hang. Works on paper must be under glass or Plexiglas. Hand delivery of artwork is September 28-29, 2020 between 11am and 5pm, or shipped work may arrive September 21-25, 2020. The opening reception and awards presentation is October 3, 2020 from 5pm to 8pm. Notification of acceptance will be emailed by June 9, 2020. Payment to artists for sold works will be made December 11, 2020.
