Plein Air Artists Colorado 22nd National Juried Fine Art Exhibition and Sale

Plein Air Artists Colorado's 22nd Annual National Juried Fine Art Exhibition and Sale will be held October 5-28, 2018 at Sorrell Sky Gallery, 828 Main Avenue, Durango, CO 81301. The exhibition is open to all current PAAC members. Nearly $20,000 in prizes (cash and merchandise) were awarded last year. The Juror of Awards is Gerald Merfeld. Entries will be independently scored by a panel of nationally recognized, professional plein air artists who are signature members in at least one major national art organization.

Eligible work must be two-dimensional original paintings completed en plein air in 2016, 2017, and until the deadline in 2018. Studio paintings, still life paintings not clearly completed outdoors, work done in class or under instructor guidance, and works previously exhibited in PAAC shows are not eligible. Maximum unframed size is 320 square inches. Artists may submit up to 4 images, but a maximum of 2 may be selected to hang in the show. A minimum of 3 submissions is required.

Entry fees are $45 for up to 3 submissions, with an additional $10 for a 4th image. All fees are non-refundable. Entries must be submitted online through CaFÉ by May 18, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notification of acceptance will be emailed by May 31, 2018. Accepted artwork must be professionally framed in fine art gallery-quality wood frame or gallery wrap with finished edges, wired and ready to hang. Minimum sale price is $450. Gallery/PAAC commission applies (50% Artist, 40% Gallery, 10% PAAC). Artists are responsible for shipping charges and insuring their own work during transit. Payment to artists for sold works will be made by November 30, 2018.
