Plein Air Artists Colorado 21st Annual National Juried Fine Art Exhibition and Sale

Plein Air Artists Colorado's 21st Annual National Juried Fine Art Exhibition and Sale will be held September 8-October 7, 2017 at Mary Williams Fine Arts, 5311 Western Avenue, Suite 112, Boulder, Colorado 80301. Entries will be juried by a panel of nationally recognized professional plein air artists who are signature members in at least one major national art organization. The juror of awards is Albert Handell. Nearly $20,000 in prizes (cash and merchandise) were awarded last year.

Eligibility is open to all current PAAC members working in two-dimensional media, excluding photography, mixed media, fiber and digital media. Only original paintings completed en plein air in 2015, 2016, and until the deadline in 2017 are eligible. Works previously exhibited in PAAC shows are not eligible. Maximum unframed size is 320 square inches. Work must be available for sale with a commission structure of 40% gallery, 10% PAAC, and 50% artist. Paintings must be professionally framed in fine art gallery-quality wood frames, wired and ready to hang. Works on paper must be under glass or Plexiglas.

Entry deadline is May 15, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Entry fee is $45.00 with an additional $10.00 media fee. Submit 3-4 images through CaFÉ. Entrant notifications will be emailed by May 26, 2017. Accepted work must arrive at the gallery by August 25, 2017. A $25 handling charge per box applies for shipped entries. An opening reception is scheduled for Friday, September 8, 2017, 5-8 p.m. Albert Handell will teach a 3-day workshop September 9-11, 2017 for $500.
