Plein Air Artists Colorado 18th National Juried Fine Art Exhibition and Sale

Plein Air Artists Colorado's 18th National Juried Fine Art Exhibition and Sale takes place August 9-30, 2014 at Abend Gallery Fine Art, 2260 E Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80206. The exhibition is open to all current PAAC members working in two-dimensional media, excluding photography, mixed media, fiber, and digital media. Only original paintings completed en plein air in 2012, 2013, and until the deadline in 2014 are eligible. Works previously exhibited in PAAC shows are not eligible. No studio paintings or still life paintings completed indoors will be accepted. Work done in class or under instructor guidance is not eligible.

Entry fees are $45 for up to three submissions, with an additional $10 for a fourth image. A minimum of three submissions is required. Entries are submitted online through CaFÉ from February 5 through April 16, 2014 at midnight mountain time. Entrants will be notified by April 25, 2014. Accepted work must arrive at the gallery by August 1, 2014. Hand-delivered work must arrive between 10am-5pm wrapped in bubble wrap. Shipped work should be sent between July 26-30, 2014. A $25 handling charge per artist applies for shipped entries. The opening reception is August 9, 2014 from 5-8pm.

Over $15,000 in prizes were awarded last year. Entries are juried by nationally recognized professional plein air artists who are signature members in major national art organizations. All accepted work must be available for sale with a 40% gallery commission, 10% PAAC commission, and 50% artist payment. Paintings must be professionally framed in fine art gallery-quality wood frames, wired and ready to hang. No lined or metal frames are permitted. Unsold hand-delivered work may be picked up September 2-13, 2014 between 10am-5pm. Shipped works are returned by September 14, 2014. Artists will be paid for sold works by October 30, 2014.
