Plein Air Artists Colorado 16th National Juried Fine Art Exhibition and Sale

Plein Air Artists Colorado presents the 16th National Juried Fine Art Exhibition and Sale, held May 5-24, 2012 at Wilder Nightingale Fine Art Gallery, 119 Kit Carson Road #A, Taos, NM 87571-6091.

Eligibility is open to all current PAAC members working in two-dimensional media (excluding photography, mixed media, fiber, and digital art). Submissions must be original paintings completed en plein air in 2010, 2011, or until the deadline in 2012, and must not have been exhibited in previous PAAC shows. Work done under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible. Minimum image size is 80 square inches; maximum is 720 square inches. All work must be professionally framed in fine art gallery-quality wood frames, wired and ready to hang. Minimum price for any piece is $600. Submissions must be made online at www.CallForEntry.org. Entry fee is $45 for 3 submissions or $65 for up to 5 submissions (additional images at $10 each). Up to 5 images may be submitted, but a maximum of 3 will be selected for the show. Digital images are assumed to be accurate representations of the original artwork; work that differs markedly from the submitted image will be disqualified.

Artists' Opening Reception is May 5, 2012, 5-8 PM. Notification of acceptance will be emailed by February 22, 2012. Shipped work must arrive by May 1, 2012; hand-delivered work must arrive April 23-27 and April 30, 2012 between 10 AM and 5 PM. Unsold hand-delivered work must be picked up by May 24, 2012 between 10 AM and 5 PM. Shipped works will be returned by June 1, 2012. PAAC will pay artists by June 30, 2012 for sold works. Sales split: 50% artist, 40% gallery, 10% PAAC. Awards include Best of Show (Southwest Art full page ad, value $3,125), 1st Place Signature (Art of the West ½ page ad, value $1,780), Master Signature Award ($1,000), Allen Award ($100), and additional awards to be announced. Judge of awards is Joe Anna Arnett, Master Signature Member.
