Plein Air

Location 1980 is an eclectic art space supporting community and local arts with over 5,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor creative space. The space provides working studio space for artists and an avenue to display solo or group shows and exhibitions, as well as workshops, instructed painting classes, and private event rentals.

This exhibition celebrates plein air painters working in any subject matter including cityscapes, beach scenes, farmland, mountains, people, places and perspectives. Original artwork only is accepted; no giclees or reproductions. Artists may submit up to three works. The entry fee is $35.00, and submissions must be received by April 7th, 2017. Artwork must be submitted via Cafe.Org only; hardcopy, emailed, or disk submissions will not be accepted.

The Best in Show award includes a juror's ribbon and $100.00 cash prize, with the selected work featured on the exhibition catalog cover. Artwork must be original, ready to hang or display with wires and hanging hardware included, and have a maximum weight of 50 lbs. All artwork must remain on display for the entire exhibition. Location 1980 retains 30% commission on any work sold. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and must provide return shipping pre-paid postage labels. Art drop-off is Saturday, April 29th, 10am-12:30pm. The exhibition runs May 4th-25th, 2017, with an opening reception on Saturday, May 6th, 6pm-9pm. Art pick-up is Saturday, May 27th, 10am-12:30pm. If artwork is selected, artists grant Location 1980 permission to use images for the catalog and promotion of the show.
