PLAY: All Media Juried Exhibition

PLAY: Juried All Media Exhibition seeks artists to submit work about play in the traditional sense, as well as the idea of being in the moment, inspiring wonder, and invoking natural curiosity. Work that invites viewer interaction is encouraged.

Eligibility is open to all artists in Central Illinois 18 years of age or older working in all media. Work must be created in the last 2 years. 3D work must fit through a standard door frame when assembled and be free standing on floor or pedestal. Maximum width for 2D or wall work may not exceed 5 feet in any direction. Work must not exceed 50 lbs. Artists may submit up to 3 entries for $25 (non-members) or $20 (SAA members). Submit 1-6 images online via CallforEntry.org, with up to 2 images per entry (1 full view and 1 detail or alternative view). JPG file names must follow format: Artist's Last Name_Title.

Artwork drop-off is Friday, March 3, 1-7 PM and Saturday, March 4, noon-5 PM at the SAA Collective gallery in the Hoogland Center for the Arts. The exhibition runs Friday, March 10-31, 2017, with an opening reception Saturday, March 11, 5:30-7:30 PM. All artists will be notified by email of jury results by Wednesday, February 15, 2017. Awards include Best in Show ($300 cash award), Juror Awards, and Honorable Mention at the juror's discretion. Juror is Bob Dixon, ceramicist and retired adjunct professor from Benedictine University. Artwork pick-up is Saturday, April 1, noon-5 PM. The Springfield Art Association retains a 35% commission on all sales directly attributed to the exhibition.
