About This Call
Plantarium 2023 is an annual dual exhibition and publication art opportunity celebrating botanical life on earth. The call invites artists to explore the vibrant and diverse world of plants and humanity's relationship with trees, leaves, flowers, and grass. All real and imaginary interpretations of the subject in abstract or figurative style are welcomed. This opportunity is open to all visual artists working in any 2D and 3D art medium worldwide.
Selected artworks will be showcased in an online group exhibition from September 15 to November 15, 2023. A curated list of selected artworks may be chosen for publication in The Book of Arts, with both free online and high-quality print versions available. Selected artworks will also be published in an exhibition catalogue and promoted for sales via the online exhibition. Artists receive a digital certificate, online profile page on the Biafarin platform, exhibition poster, promotional badges, artwork reviews from visitors, and regular reports with analytics and engagement statistics.
Submission is free of charge. Only selected artists pay a USD 40 selection fee, supported by a money-back guarantee until the exhibition opening. Artists can submit up to 6 artworks, with a maximum of 2 selected per artist. Artworks must be original, created by the entrant without instructor supervision, and not copies or derivatives of copyrighted work. Artworks created within the last 5 years are preferred, though there is no creation year limit. There is no size limit for submissions. Artwork photos should show only the artwork without frames or extraneous backgrounds.
