PKX Exhibition

The PKX Exhibition is part of the 3rd Annual PKX Teen Arts and Film Festival, celebrating art and film created by teens ages 14-19 from around the globe. The exhibition celebrates imaginative and original artworks created by young people with a passion for their medium and a desire to share it with their peers and artists worldwide. All 2D and 3D work by artists ages 14-19 from anywhere in the world is accepted. Film submissions for the Film Festival showcase should be submitted via https://filmfreeway.com/PKX.

The exhibition will be held April 18 through May 17, 2024 at The Art Effect's Trolley Barn Gallery, 489 Main St, Poughkeepsie, New York, with an Opening Reception on Thursday, April 18, 6-8 pm. Artwork must be ready to hang upon arrival with D-rings, wire, functional mounting mechanisms, or detailed installation instructions. Artwork must be family-friendly and appropriate for all ages. A maximum of 7 feet in any direction is recommended with no minimum. 2D artwork should not exceed 65 pounds. Artists will be notified within approximately 2-3 weeks after the deadline about selection status. Selected artwork will be displayed in the physical gallery and in a virtual online exhibition.

Exhibiting artists may specify a retail price for work or mark it "Not for Sale." The Art Effect waives its usual commission fee, and artists who sell work receive 100% of the profits. The submission fee is $5.00, with an additional $5 per image after the first 3 (minimum 3 images, maximum 15). Important dates: Notification of accepted artwork is February 3, 2024; delivery of accepted artwork is March 12-30; return shipping and pickup is May 21-June 8.
