Pittsboro Gallery of Arts - Membership Application

Pittsboro Gallery of Arts is accepting membership applications from artists. The gallery is a for-profit cooperative S corporation that provides a well-maintained gallery space, accepts and pays sales tax, and promotes artists and exhibits.

Membership Requirements: Members must sign a Membership Agreement and pay a one-time membership fee of $300.00 to become shareholders. The gallery space is 2,000 square feet including a teaching space. Members will be allotted display space determined by the size and type of media. Members must maintain an inventory list of all work on display and update and change out art at least every other month. All work must be available for sale. Members pay $100.00 per month rent and a 12% commission fee on all sales, receiving 88% of sales each month. Members are required to work 6 hours per month staffing the gallery (can be split into two 3-hour shifts) and are expected to serve on committees, which may require 12 to 24 extra hours per year for gallery upkeep, extended holiday hours, and special events. Monthly meeting attendance is required.

Application Requirements: Submit a complete application including an application form, artist resume and statement, a statement of interest, and 5 to 7 properly formatted images in JPEG format (maximum 5MB per image). Artwork submitted for review must be the same media and quality as intended for display in the gallery. If working in more than one medium, submit 5 images of each medium and specify approval is being sought in multiple mediums; acceptance may be granted in one but not all media. Applications are submitted online. Applicants will be notified of jury review results, and accepted artists must provide their work to the gallery by the date specified in notification. Entry fee: $25.00.
