About This Call
Pirate: Contemporary Art announces its second juried art show. Founded over 35 years ago, this eclectic, alternative gallery space presents cutting-edge contemporary artworks from Denver.
Juror: Nora Burnett Abrams, curator of MCA Denver. Abrams has experience working on exhibitions at major institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Grey Art Gallery at New York University. She has assisted with significant exhibitions such as Matisse Picasso at MOMA and Robert Rauschenberg: Combines at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She has taught art history at New York University and lectured widely on modern and contemporary art. She holds a master of arts from Columbia University and a bachelor of arts from Stanford University.
Exhibition dates: November 13–29, 2015. Entry fee: $35 for 3 images accompanied by the work's title, dimensions, media, and price. Open to all media. All accepted work must be delivered by hand by Sunday, November 8 and picked up on November 29, 2015. Submissions must be made through CaFE. Location: Pirate: Contemporary Art, 3655 Navajo St., Denver, CO 80211.
