About This Call
Pink Pearl is an all-media juried visual art exhibition exploring drawing as a foundation of art making, as well as the removal and erasing process—adding and subtracting. The acts of drawing and erasing expand to and include all media. All explorations and interpretations of this theme are invited, with all media, styles, and techniques encouraged. Open to artists 21 years of age and older living in the St. Louis, Missouri region and surrounding 200-mile radius.
Eligibility requires residency in the St. Louis region or within a 200-mile radius at the time of submission and when the show begins on September 29, 2018. Artists may submit up to 3 original artworks completed between 2015-2018 that have not been previously exhibited in any juried exhibit in the St. Louis region during the 6 months prior to the exhibit dates, nor previously exhibited at Art Saint Louis Gallery. Work samples may include 1-6 images and 0-3 videos. Entry fees are $35 for non-members and $20 for ASL members. The entry deadline is July 9, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. MST.
Jurors are St. Louis-based artists Mary Borgman and Brigham Dimick. Awards of Excellence will be selected, including one $250 Best of Show Award of Excellence and four non-cash Awards of Excellence. All five award recipients will be eligible for the Honor Awards 2019 ten-artist curated exhibit presented at Art Saint Louis, June 15-July 18, 2019. The exhibition will be held at Art Saint Louis Gallery, 1223 Pine Street in downtown St. Louis, from September 22-October 25, 2018, with a free reception on Saturday, September 22, 2018, 5-7 p.m. Artwork specifications include size limits (not exceeding 6' wide or 7' tall including frame), weight limits (not exceeding 40 lbs for 2-D works), and specific presentation requirements for 2-D, 3-D, and video works.
