About This Call
The Pikes Peak Watercolor Society International Watermedia 2015 exhibition runs June 1-30, 2015 at Library 21c Gallery in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The exhibition is juried by Ted Nuttall (AWS/NWS). Exhibition awards include Best of Show $2,000, Gold Award $1,000, Founders Award $250, with over $5,000 in total cash and merchandise awards.
The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age or older. Paintings must be predominantly watermedia on paper, clayboard, Yupo, illustration board, or watercolor canvas. Source material, including photographs, must be the artist's own. Collage material must be painted by the artist. No computer generated art or prints are allowed. Work must not be more than 3 years old and not previously shown in a PPWS Watermedia Exhibition. Entry fees are $30 for members and $40 for non-members. Submissions require 1-3 digital images in jpg format at 72 ppi/dpi, minimum 1920 pixels on the longest side, maximum 5 MB file size. Acceptance notification is April 27, 2015. Shipped art is due by May 18-22, and hand-delivered art by May 27 (9:00 AM to 4:00 PM). A $25 handling fee is required for shipped work with prepaid return shipping. PPWS charges 30% commission on sales, and all paintings must be for sale with prices fixed following acceptance. A three-day workshop with Ted Nuttall is offered June 3-5, 2015 at Library 21c Makerspace for $300 (members) or $350 (non-members). The opening and awards reception is June 5.
