Piedmont Craftsmen 2011 Exhibiting Member Jury

Piedmont Craftsmen's Standards Committee invites craft artists to apply for exhibiting membership. If accepted, you will join over 350 craft professionals from throughout the Southeast recognized nationally and internationally for excellence in technique and design. As lifetime members, craft artists enjoy opportunities to exhibit and sell through the prestigious annual Fair and year-round gallery and shop, access to prominent collectors, and camaraderie with other professional colleagues.

The Standards Committee searches for new exhibiting members whose body of work demonstrates excellence and creativity in concept, design, and technique. Piedmont Craftsmen accepts applications in the following media: clay, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, paper, photography, printmaking, and wood. Applicants must live and work in one of the Southeastern states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia.

The selection process occurs in two phases. Phase 1 (Image Jury) requires submission of eight images representing your best work from the last two years, a completed jury application, artist statement, and $30 application fee by the deadline. Image Jury results will be emailed in mid-May. Applicants who score above the median cutoff are invited to Phase 2 (Object Jury), held during Piedmont Craftsmen's Fair, November 18-20, 2011. Participants may choose an individual booth fee of approximately $600 (additional $75 for corner) or participate in a group exhibit booth for $125 plus 25% commission on sales. Object Jury results will be mailed within three weeks of the Fair. Newly accepted exhibiting members must pay annual dues of $70 (individual) or $80 (team) and participate annually in the Fair, consign work to the gallery and shop, serve on committees, or volunteer for educational activities.
