About This Call
This juried photo competition hosted by Stein Ward Studio recognizes photographers for their work in an open theme event. It is open to all amateur and professional photographers from around the world, with selected works displayed in an online gallery. Color, black and white, grayscale, monochrome, and sepia works are accepted. Winning entries will be awarded over $500 in cash prizes and free entries into future calls hosted by the studio.
The competition offers two divisions—amateur and professional—which are judged separately. An amateur photographer is defined as someone who takes photos as a hobby and not for primary income, while a professional's main source of income is from selling photography. Photographers must choose one division for all their entries. Images must be submitted in JPG format with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side and maximum file size of 5MB. The entry fee is $35 for 1-3 entries. Best of Show winners in each division receive $100 cash plus 2 free entries into future calls ($70 value). Honorable Mention winners receive free entries into future calls ($35 value each). For every 100 entries received, the studio adds an extra $50 in prize money split evenly between the two Best of Show winners.
Entries are accepted from June 1 through September 1, 2023. Entries will be juried September 2-5, 2023, with notifications emailed on or before September 5. Gallery selections will display beginning September 10, 2023. All entries must be original work by the artist with no signatures, names, logos, or watermarks. Work should be family-friendly and suitable for all ages. Previous accepted works from other competitions are welcome if they meet the stated criteria. Artists may reside anywhere in the world.
